Sam and Angela's First Wedding Anniversary Custom Artwork

Recently,  Sam and Angela celebrated their first wedding anniversary. 

A few weeks before their special day, Sam commissioned me to create a custom 3-D art piece commemorating their wedding day.

Sam emailed me the photo he wanted me to base the artwork on.

The photo Sam sent me was gorgeous.  It featured his beautiful bride Angela standing out over the scenic water, as Sam gently takes her hand. It was a real challenge trying to capture the happiness the two newlyweds share in their wedding photo.

When envisioning the creation of Sam and Angela's artwork I thought that making Sam and Angela's entire bodies in 2-D, along with the clouds and the sun in the background, would make for a great effect.  The 3-D elements would include Angela's flowers, Sam and Angela's faces, as well as their hands, holding each other.

It was certainly a challenge creating a special piece of artwork for a special anniversary.  I hope the artwork added to the overall joy of Sam and Angela's anniversary celebration.

New KISS pop artwork

I've always been a huge fan of just about anything pop art.  But one of the pop art looks I like the most is when the artist creates a split screen/multiple panel piece of art.  In a way it reminds me of the Brady Bunch but as hokey as that sounds, there's no denying the cool look and effect it creates.

The look of KISS is so unique and neat, it just about lends itself to creating a four panel pop art piece.

Featured in this artwork are Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss.  Their bodies are composed in a 2-D, while their faces are 3-D.

This artwork measures 4x4" and comes framed and matted in a 10x10" frame.  It comes ready to hang!!!

KISS

Their theatrics can only be out shined by their music.  From the makeup, to the blood spattering to their rock anthems, I hope KISS’ army of rock will enjoy this limited edition, 3-D print.

This artwork is limited to only 25 pieces in the entire edition.  Each piece is hand signed and numbered and includes a COA.  It measure 9×12″ unframed.

Xmas Tree

Thanksgiving is almost here and in no time at all it'll be Christmas.

Recently, I created a 3-D pop art Xmas Tree.  The artwork has been very popular at show and in stores but I have never offered it online before.

I figured with the holidays rapidly approaching, people may want one to give as a gift or to hang in their homes.

2nd Annual Bridgewater Holiday Craft Fair

The 2nd Annual Bridgewater Holiday Craft Fair was a ton of fun.  It was so nice meeting so many new people and it was a pleasure talking to those people I've met before who came to visit me at the fair.  Thank you so much for making the PopsicArt booth such a success.

The show featured art vendors from all over the East Coast.  The craft fair took place in the Green Knoll Firehouse.  Vendor booths were set up in both the conference room and the garage.

I was very excited to introduce my new line of minis at this year's craft fair.  These 3-D art pieces measure 5x5" and come framed and ready to hang.  They certainly were popular and I was extremely happy with how well received they were.

The unframed 3-D prints I had for sale also did extremely well.  People loved flipping through the bins and I loved seeing the expressions on their faces when they found something they just had to have.

People always comment on how colorful and whimsical my artwork is.  But when you are sitting in the PopsicArt booth facing the back of all my pictures, they sure look anything but colorful and whimsical.

Framed Beatles Artwork Ready to Hang

I'm such a hug fan of music that it's nearly impossible for me to rank my top 10 favorite artists of all time.  But you can certainly count on the Beatles being ranked somewhere near the top of that list. 

Ask me what my favorite Beatles song is on a Monday and I might say "In My Life."  Ask me the same question on a Tuesday and I may say "Revolution."  The answer can change by the day or sometimes even by the hour!  There are just too many amazing Beatles songs to choose from.  I can't pick a favorite.

The same thing can be said about picking a favorite Beatle among their four members.  Are you a Ringo fan?  Do you think Paul is cute?  Does George's musical stylings amaze you?  Or does John' intellect fascinate you?

Jerry Garcia

Not to downplay his musical importance, but more than the actual music he created, I always found Jerry Garcia's look fascinating.  To me, he sort of looked like a muppet who came to life with his thick gray hair and even thicker gray beard. It's almost impossible not to want to draw him.

That Kiss at Sea

I recently returned from my honeymoon in Aruba.  We stayed at the all-inclusive Riu.  It was gorgeous and I'll probably create a 3-D art piece inspired by the beautiful beaches of Aruba.  The water was a crystal clear blue and there were fish swimming all around us.

Although I created this piece "That Kiss at Sea" earlier this year, everytime I look at it it reminds of me of those beautiful tropical waters I just returned from and how much I long for them.

Rat Pack

I've always been a huge Rat Pack fan.  As much as I love Frank's voice, I'm actually a bigger Dino fan.  In fact my wife and I used his song "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You" for our first dance at our wedding.  There's just something so cool about him.  Even the way he used to be introduced before her came on stage: "directly from the bar..."

2nd Annual Bridgewater Holiday Craft Fair on November 14th

Pretty soon I'll be loading my truck up again for another craft show.  This one is the 2nd Annual Bridgewater Holiday Craft Fair, which will be held in the unique setting of the Green Knoll Firehouse. 


I'll be offering a wide variety of 3-D pop art, including some new pieces that I'm very excited about and anxious to see how they are received.
