Don Corleone

How do I even express my love for the Godfather movies?  I don't think I can.

No movie character -- not Darth Vader, not Indiana Jones, not even Freddy Krueger -- can possibly compare to Don Vito Corleone.

He could be the most quotable movie character ever!

Just check out some of these lines:

"Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But uh, until that day, accept this justice as a gift on my daughter's wedding day." Don Corleone to Bonasera

"A man who doesn't spend time with his family can never be a real man." Don Corleone to Johnny Fontane.

"Never tell anybody outside the family what you're thinking again." Don Corleone to Sonny

"I never wanted this for you. I work my whole life--I don't apologize--to take care of my family, and I refused to be a fool, dancing on the string held by all those bigshots. I don't apologize--that's my life--but I thought that, that when it was your time, that you would be the one to hold the string. Senator Corleone; Governor Corleone. Well, this wasn't enough time, Michael. It wasn't enough time." Don Vito to Michael

"I have a sentimental weakness for my children and I spoil them, as you can see. They talk when they should be listening." Don Vito to Sollozzo, referring to Sonny

In fact, Vito Corleone's most famous line "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse," is the #2 movie quote of all time, according to AFI.

But as famous and as great as that line is, it's not my favorite.  My favorite quote from the Don is when he is sitting in the conference room with the other Dons and say this, regarding Michael:

"But I'm a superstitious man. And if some unlucky accident should befall him - If he should get shot in the head by a police officer, or if he should hang himself in his jail cell - or if he's struck by a bolt of lightning, them I'm going to blame some of the people in this room, and that I do not forgive. But, that aside, let me say that I swear, on the souls of my grandchildren, that I will not be the one to break the peace we've made here today."

It's like mafia poetry.

I always wanted to pay tribute to my all-time favorite movie character so I created a 3D pop art piece of Don Vito Corleone.

Don Corleone is rendered in 2D, while his face and hand are in 3D.The artwork comes framed in a beautiful black shadow box frame, measuring 10x10."

I hope it's an offer you can't refuse.
